We want all our volunteers to have the skills and knowledge they need to feel confident to keep young people safe and help them gain skills for life

We organise learning at Scouts in what we call the Learning Tree. Use the interactive Learning Tree to find out more

Growing Roots

The learning all new volunteers are encouraged to complete within 180 days.

Branching Out

The learning you can choose to do to develop your knowledge further and get accreditations

Safety, Safeguarding and First Response learning need to renewed every three years.

First Response

Make sure all young people have access to a leader that can help them in an emergency.

Wood Badge

Since September 1919, volunteers in the Scouts have been awarded the Wood Badge once they have completed their relevant learning.
